2010 Poster Session
“Be the Change you wish to see in the WIC World!”
REGISTER YOUR POSTER
Forms must be submitted no later than March 12, 2010.
The 2010 Nutrition and Breastfeeding Conference Poster Session is your opportunity to show us your creative and innovative ideas. The theme this year is “Be the change you wish to see in the WIC world.” We want you to express your creative side with no limitations. Through this poster session you should convey a key idea, message or strategy to be used to motivate participants towards a behavior change related to nutrition, breastfeeding, physical activity or substance abuse.
Poster Ideas
• A poster with a message to help participants quit smoking
• A local agency initiative designed to combat childhood obesity
• A piece of artwork that motivates participants to breastfeed past 6 months
• A bulletin board that motivates participants to increase their activity
• A local agency lesson that motivates children to try new foods
• A poster to show how high risk nutrition counseling works at your agency
• A poster to demonstrate how GIS mapping helps to strategically locate your WIC clinics
• A poster to show women’s health issues and how to take care
• A poster to demonstrate how a WIC Wellness Works activity was adapted to improve participants’ healthy eating, physical activity or stress management.
• A poster to show how WIC Wellness Works has helped employees not only “talk the talk but also walk the walk” by incorporating worksite wellness activities at the clinic.
*Remember that you are not limited to the examples above. Be creative and show other agencies how you are improving the health of Texans in your clinic.

Please note: The poster session is a requirement for all agencies receiving the Obesity Prevention Mini-Grants; however it is not limited to this group. Good Luck and have fun!
